5.Character: It occurs as a white light squama-shaped crystals or white granulars or powders. It has a slightly special smell and it deliquesce easily in moist air. It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol.
6.Usage: It is mainly used as antiseptic, which can extend the shelf life of foods. It performs good on inhibiting mold, aerobic spore-producing bacterias and gram-negative bacillus, and it’s harmless to yeast .It also inhibits the aflatoxin. It’s widely used in bread, cakes, soy sauce, soy products, jam and canned food as preservative.
